The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA will be rendering companies like new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency reported it is alarmed with regard to the large amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no thoroughly functional office devoted to service the area regularly. The company issue established for intervention ordeals a significant influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it complicated for that office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much more resources to help the servicing of all buyers and boost access to Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
